Riding an elephant to the Amber Fort.
Riding an elephant to the Amber Fort.
I am a dreamer and a doer, organized and responsible. I live for new experiences whether it be artistic projects, a leadership role, or traveling the globe.

I tend to take control of my environment and find I like being in a decision-making role. I enjoy the satisfaction of thinking outside of the box as I solve problems, embark on a new project, or just get the job done. I can function equally well in a logical operational situation as I do in creative pursuits.

I am the author of several DIY books and numerous articles for major publishing houses. I have developed prototypes, projects, and trade show samples for the DIY industry, and my textile and fiber art has been published in a variety of publications and exhibited at various venues in the Southeast.

Over the years my work has also included being an assistant director of administration and human resources for a division of a large university and a founder/owner/buyer and interior design consultant of a high-end decorative fabric and handmade paper boutique. I have served as a financial officer for several small non-profit organizations, and consulted with various non-profits to develop computerized accounting systems, policy and procedural manuals, as well as recommending solutions to maximize office efficiencies. I’ve managed the financial administration for a small recording studio, provided operations oversight for a chamber of commerce, and financial planning for a small town and a textile mill.

Instead of chaos, I find these divergent experiences and interests bring balance into my life. Challenges, movement, stimulation is what inspires me to enjoy and live life to its fullest.
